This is the typical flow when a client seeks an Efficiency Nova Scotia incentive, and your company performs the work.

Client Step: Initial Energy Assessment (for Homes)

For many residential programs (especially those with significant grants),the client must start with a Home Energy Assessment conducted by an“Energy Advisor” approved by Efficiency Nova Scotia.
This advisor will evaluate how the home uses energy, identify areas for improvement, and generate a report with recommendations for eligible upgrades and potential incentives.
It is one of the most important tools the client possesses; requesting this evaluation is ideal for both the client and our company.

Client Step: Identifying Needs and Contacting

The client reviews the energy assessment recommendations (or their own needs for specific programs like EV chargers, panels, etc.).
The client contacts M Arce Electric (or finds you through the Preferred Partners directory) to get a quote for the necessary electrical work (e.g.,heat pump installation, panel upgrade, hot tub wiring, EV charger)

M Arce Electric Step: Providing a Detailed Quote

M Arce Electric visits the client, evaluates the work, and provides a detailed quote.
It is crucial that the quote clearly specifies the products and services that
are eligible for Efficiency Nova Scotia incentives. You can help the client
understand which parts of the work qualify.

Client Step: Pre-approval (if applicable)

For some programs and larger projects, the client may need to submit M Arce Electric’s quote to Efficiency Nova Scotia for pre-approval before the work begins. This ensures the project is eligible for incentives.
Your role here: You can help the client identify if pre-approval is required and what information from the quote is essential for this step

M Arce Electric Step: Work Execution

Once the client has received pre-approval (if necessary) and accepted the quote, M Arce Electric proceeds with the electrical installation or upgrade.
It is fundamental that the work is performed according to the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) standards and Efficiency Nova Scotia specifications for the client to be eligible for the incentive.
Documentation during work: It is recommended to take before-and-after photographs of installations, especially in areas that will later be concealed (e.g., panel wiring, insulation).
